Inspired by the way natural light penetrates the interior space of the Carriageworks, ‘Nightlight’ takes an everyday sequence—the changing nature of light over time—and makes it visible in the dark.
Light formations sampled from a splice of time, every five minutes over the course of one day, are superimposed on the surfaces of the industrial space.
The projection, slowly crossing the floor, tracing the pattern of light across the Carriageworks space, will in some ways seem a familiar sensory experience; a “normal” environmental condition artificially imposed during the darkness of night.
